yell.gif yell.gif :yuck: although i have seen bits and pices of the 2002 entry, i refuse to sit down and watch it...lucas even messed up the 1977 movie by offering a "remastered" version...what bu11sh1t !...right now the only movie i will watch is the 1977 movie...thats the definitive star wars movie... ( although yes the base for the movie was taken from the old japanness samuri movies...like youjimbo and blind swordman ) lucas has lost touched with his audience and have aliened the old school fans who made him to start with...now with viedo cassests, cable tv, internet, file swaping, illegal movie coping, ect the star wars movies have lost thier unique mystic quality...of limited viewing ( like at threaters )set in that threater with others of like mind...i remember how the audience "ohh and aaahhed" in may 1977 ...that was part of the experience of a movie like star wars...and i my observation that magic is now gone...its a toss up what will happen for the 2005 entry...it might might not be good...i do doubt that it will struggle after a swift star at the box office i predict by mid july you will see it wane to just one or two threaters in a city...again with all the illegal copying ect it will lose steam fast...again lucas didnt see that tech revoultion coming and should have wraped up the series in the 90 s...thats if the 2005 entry will be the last...does anyone have a e mail address for lucas...he needs to know how much he has f(_)ckked up the series and if his flunkie co workers dont have the ballls to confront him on this i will be more than happy to tell lucas of his mis-handleing of the last 27 .5 years...MY EMAIL IS vok_aliennazi@yahoo.com MAY THE "FARCE" BE WITH YOU .... yell.gif yell.gif

I don't think George would listen to true fans anymore. He's alientated us - we know, he knows it. And now he's just after little kids who like lots of pretty colours and flashing lights. If it would make you feel better, look through this forum for "The Movie Goer Strikes Back", where I take my revenge on this man.

well, im a true fan, and i dont feel alienated. just the oppoiste in fact, i consider myself rational enough to be able to take a step back and take these films for what they are. certainly there are flaws present in the new films (and ill discuss and debate them at lengh) but there are equal (and often worse) flaws with the originals.

"although i have seen bits and pices of the 2002 entry, i refuse to sit down and watch it"

thats kind of funny. how can you hope to assess/critique any film if you refuse to even watch it??

"lucas has lost touched with his audience and have aliened the old school fans who made him to start with"

hey, lucas writes to please his audience. it was kids in 1977, it was the same in 1999 and 2002. i wish more of the 'true fans' were able to take a more objective view of what Lucas is doing. alas...

"i remember how the audience "ohh and aaahhed" in may 1977"

a bit like when they "ohh and aaahhed" during the podrace (at least thats what i heard from the kids behind me, and i thought of that again when i saw kids pretending to have lightsabre fights at the end of another showing)

"he needs to know how much he has f(_)ckked up the series and if his flunkie co workers dont have the ballls to confront him on this i will be more than happy to tell lucas of his mis-handleing of the last 27 .5 years"

why dont you just tell us?? im curious.

Jariten, I'll assume you're from theforce.net, since you're new and defending the prequels. Welcome, and we're all looking forward to having a nice spirited conversation about the prequels, if you could just open a different thread about it though that would be cool, this is this guy's thread and he can answer your questions here, but open another one for all of us.

Jariten, you sound like just the kind of member we want in our forums. We've often wished we could have some prequel fans on the site who we could debate against. Sadly, the only ones in the past who have visited just slung obscenities at us and left. However, you sound different. I agree with Vwing. You should start a new thread so we can have our first intelligent debate with a prequel fan.
