timing my friends are everything...and mr lucas has lost that timing...and the fan base that made him and the "star wars" universe...look at 1977...about 4 years after watergate, and about 2 years after the fall of viet nam...allot happen and there was a gap to be filled...although our poltical leaders and such are totaly corrupt, the american people on a whole ( i say about 65+ percent ) do know the difference between good and bad leadership...i think 1977 star wars hit that nerve of "right and wrong" good vs evil albeit in a very light and shallow way...the 1977 movie can and does stand all own its own...it is truly a "timeless" piece of movie making magic...the stats to the movie show that...now i see why lucas waited for 3 years , a good move, let the "battlestar galaticas" and all the other clones go thur the bowels and flushed down the toliet...now lets go to 1980 "empire" a good movie but with flaws...the flaw was the ending, although you know that another 3 years would elaspe before the next movie, you know it would be worth the wait...now to 1983 and this is where it falls apart...weak story line, and sorry to say the "ewoks"...if lucas wanted this battle to take place on the wookie homeworld then it should have taken place there...either spend the money or wait for the effects ( like CGG ) ...many fans were alienated by the ewoks...( 3 foot creatures against imperial troops no way...7 to 9 feet wookies who can tear your arms off ok the fans can deal with that even though wookie technology is low )and thats the start of the decline of the series...in fact the old marvel comics about the star wars series from the late 70 s to the early 80 s were better than anything old lucas thought of...now the space between the 1983 and 1999 entry...first of all lucas should have gotten on the tail of the 1989 "batman" strenght...this should have showed lucas that the "want " was there for movies like "star wars"...the 16 year gap was too long ( some sort of filler movie should have been made, like about bobba fett or those corrliain smugglers ) and then with the 1999 entry we get jar jar blinks who has got to be the worst character in movie history...jar jar was a transfigure from the ewoks who lucas knew was hated by all respectable star wars fan...let he forced jar jar down the collective throat of the star was fan who by now had grown into adult hood and now takes thier kids or newphews nices ect to see the series...well after the insult of the 1999 entry i refuse to see another star wars movie... yell.gif :yuck:

You're right, Vwing... too late now. In the past, we could all fix our typos whenever we liked. But alas, these days, we cannot. It is a shame. I often see a post which I'd like to fix up a bit.... ah, well.
