Anyone have any ideas? I have a really horrible teacher. It's the 3rd day of school, and she wanted me to have an idea into her today. I made EIGHT different suggestions, and she vetoed every one. Some really interesting sounding stuff...like identifying metals by the color of flame they burn, seeing if you can mix them to produce different colors, blah blah blah, she said it was too easy. ~cough~ bitch ~cough~ sleep.gif Anyway, if any of you all have any good ideas, let me know. Something easy, high school level. Something that sounds fancy but I can do pretty quickly, and not have to put alot of effort into it, because I hate this class and I want to as little work as possible to get the job done. biggrin.gif

I think I've come up with something. I live right near Eglin Air Force Base....I have a geigercounter. I can divide the town up into quadrants and see if there is more radiation to the west, over near Eglin. Easy to do as well. You just put a paper towel in a pie tin, it collects fall out, you burn that in the tin, the radiation won't burn with it and you use the geigercounter and see what you get. If she doesn't approve this one I'll start focusing all of my brain molecules into forming a plan for her assassination. dry.gif

That sounds like a good project, and it would be an original experiment, I hope she lets you do that one.

Barend, you forgot the rubber bands. Every rudementary proton excellerator requires at least six rubber bands. Are you trying to kill her?

Hmmm, how about testing whether paints in cermamics can lead to poisons being passed onto foodstuffs kept in the said pots?

I guess that project relys on you having access to analytical equipment though. Hmmm, thats all I can seem to think of, and by think of, I mean rip off from the work of others in my 'research group' at uni.

Or at least you would be if you weren't, you know, male.

I'd make a suggestion...but I'm utterly hopeless at science. I regret now that I never took notes in any science class other than Environmental Science my senior year (also, oddly enough, the only science class I ever made “A”s in). All I can think of is suggesting something that involves acid or other fun chemicals*, but I'm not sure what kind of science class you're in right now or what would cover that...maybe chemistry, but I never took that...

*that could possibly cause an explosion or property damage.

It's Marine Biology, but the project doesn't have to be marine related. I'm going to suggest my radiation idea next time I see the teacher...Schools will be closed here tomorrow because of the tropical storm/hurricane/whatever thing that's coming to eat us. Maybe Friday too, depending on how bad the bus routes get flooded.

Ah, be careful, I saw on the news this morning you're getting a double whammy down there. A deuce of precipitation and electrical discharge.

Oh, shut up.

We got to play with chemicals in physical science and biology, as well.

Physical science generally means chem and physics. Biology is boring.
