Rhub. I said 'vaguely unflattering', no mention of an insult.
Yahtz is brilliantly rude and his insults are creative and hilarious.
His descriptions of anything he dislikes are acidic and toe-curling.
He is a master of sarcasm and irony, with ocacasional gentle idiocy.
Of course he's an arsehole, an adorable one.

He's just a Dave Gorman, or a Tony Hawks, or even a Bill Bryson. All of those write in the exact same style that you just described.
