Now, for a moment, let's forget all the ridiculously stupid dialogue, plot points, and contradictions with the OT (which I'm sure Lucas will change in the OT so there is consistency, as he is doing with Leia's conversation with Luke in ROTJ about her mother) that will most likely be in Episode III - ROTS (ick, these just keep getting worse and worse don't they, ANH, ESB, ROTJ all flow, but TPM, AOTC, ROTS, just really don't). Let's just focus on this one aspect, THE DUEL. What do you guys think? Think it'll be good? Will it be more intense than the Duel of the Fates, as emotional as the OT duels? Or will it be the same old choregraphed fast-moving crap we've been seeing? Now, before you make up your minds, I have these screen captures, and I must say, they don't look half bad. I know, I know, they're only screen caps, and Anakin does seem a bit constipated, but I have to give him credit, he looks pissed, and dare I say, even a little bad-ass.

Ok, these are the only 2 I can get right now, there are more caps, but my comp's screwin up right now, and you get the idea.

Ah, sorry, Vwing. I can't see these images excite me much. In the close-ups of Anakin, he looks even more dicky than before (which I didn't know was possible).

Vwing, I am sorry, but while the images from second post look credible to be (blue screen, anyone?), the first two look like spoofs .
Anyway, he must be wearing a latex mask Bilbo Baggins-style, because he sports more wrinkles than contemporary Harrison Ford. Still, the effect is 1940s Dracula film, rather than SW. Yuck!

Hmm, I think the problem is that you can't forget all the ridiculously stupid dialogue, plot points, and contradictions in the PT. I must admit that the duel could maybe have some good moments, but that is irrelevant since its whiny Hayden doing the fighting. No matter how cool the action sequences they will fall flat due to how bad and uninteresting these characters have been written. Ewan McGregor is usually brilliant, but not in this context. And hey, it's George. I rest my case. wink.gif

At least hayden doesn't look straight out of dawson creek in this one during that important duel. It's definately shaping up to be the best scene from the PT, doubt that will make up for most of the crap before that but I'm looking forward to it.

PS is the V-wing a speeder or a spaceship or both? That thing kicked ass in rogue squadron I for the N64.

I love Anakin's expression in the first two. And just what on earth are he and Obi-Wan doing in theduel2.jpg? Caption competition time, anyone?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

To the individual who commented on bluescreen: you know that (aside from one shot which they did during last movie(?)) the entire 3rd episode is all shot in front of a bluescreen.

To those of us who saw the original Star Wars as a kid: what would we have said to kids who were like, "hey, by the time he makes sequels, Disney will have stopped doing animation, but Star Wars will be more animation than 'Bedknobs & Broomsticks'?" unsure.gif

(i've got another post brewing, but it'll take some time to write).

I can just imagine the corny dialogue, but I have to admit a small (SMALLSMALLSMALL) part of me is going OH YEAH, but then I see that green/blue-screen background and ground. The lack of environment really gets me down. The limited scenery (the pillars) are kind of cool, but really look like some left-over pieces of Mordor. Lucas is really going to get accused of ripping off ROTK, especially with the ROTS title.

Nitty-picky moment: What's with all the wild hair? I mean, seriously.... I'm sure it's going to be sweaty and sticking to their heads and stuff, but it's really bug me. Don't they have barbers at that studio? smile.gif

I don't know. I don't know. I'm so badly burned from these movies, it's almost impossible to care anymore...

I'm more excited about the return of the Daleks to Dr. Who right now in the new series!!!! biggrin.gif

I won't say anything until I see the actual fight. Given where I'm living, it'll probably take a few more months after May, so you people living in North America will probably see it long before I do. I just hope that any possible list by Chefelf doesn't spoil it for me...

But then again, I seriously doubt that anything can stop me from going... :yuck:

I'm going out on a limb here, although I'm sure there will be some droid factory bullshit thrown in "just for fun."

I predict that it will suck, yet somehow achieve the worthy status: best scene in the PT.

The actors all had to grow mullets so as to try and make a lead in to the OT fashions.

Here's how the duel will go down.

Yoda: Anakin it is, look at him you must.

Obi Wan: I will handle this.

Anakin: -Draws a quadruple bladed light saber and activates it-

And that'll likely be the extent of the dialogue.

I do have to say that Anakin looks believable as a villain.

Yip, I knew about the excessive use of blue screen in SW, that is why I considered these pics as genuine.

BTW, just curious. Why did you call me "individual"? I looked it up and it says that individual is

1) a person, considered separately from the rest of the group or society that they live in , or

2) a person of a particular kind, especially one who is unusual in some way

Am I weird or something? I am really nonplussed by this. sad.gif

Don't worry about it Madam Corvax; 'individual' in this particular sense just means 'person'.
