While most of what you say rings true-- I too can only listen to music while doing something else-- I think it's also possible for music dummies like us to notice a good score. An average score usually doesn't have an effect on me either way, but I notice if it's wonderful (North by Northwest, Pirates of the Caribbean, Final Fantasy 9, Labyrinth).

As I say I'm far less into music than most people, and in a blind sound test I probably couldn't *really* tell the difference between Louis Armstrong's trumpetting and Bix Beiderbecke's, but that theme song from Firefly is darn good.

Wait. What was I saying?

To be honest, I only notice music in a movie if its really badly placed, as then it sticks out. A good score is one that adds to the atmosphere, but doesn't steal attention away from the plot.

the problem with kids today is that they are not rebelious enough!

...the music they listen to isn't scary enough!

...the clothes they wear isn't confronting or weird enough!

...they robbed us of the right to be shocked by them like every other generation before has done!

...and NO that doesn't count as an act of rebellion...

I'm shocked by their general stupidity.

"A good burp peels like a bell.
A great burp peels wallpaper."
-Wiley's Dictionary.

Also, the themesong for "Wonderfalls" is one of the best tunes ever. We ARE just boppin' along in our barrel. Plus, they should totally have done more viewmaster-scenecuts, like, almost every other scenecut, like in the pilot. Thank goodness it's coming out on deeveedee.

Oh, yeah. Kids. Well, I don't think adults or young adults are that good, either. Basically, everyone. What's the deal with them!

I can't see how thats any worse then other rap music.

If I'm going to be forced to listen to rap, I'd like it to at least be Australian rap, as it isn't based soley about drugs and prostitutes and the like.

You obviously have a very close-minded attitude towards music.

I can guarantee that everyone on this message board did things when they were young that completely confounded their parents and drove them mad with anger. Don't even get me on the "kids" thing.

Uh, well, actually, I was/am kind of a nerd...speak for yourself...
