Sometimes when I'm browsing the forums, I get a whole page full of something along the lines of this: "Wrapper script | > Script written by Matt Mecham | > Date started: 14th February 2002 | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------- */ //----------------------------------------------- // USER CONFIGURABLE ELEMENTS //----------------------------------------------- // Root path define( 'ROOT_PATH', "./" ); // Enable module usage? // (Vital for some mods and IPB enhancements) define ( 'USE_MODULES', 1 ); //----------------------------------------------- // NO USER EDITABLE SECTIONS BELOW //----------------------------------------------- define ( 'IN_IPB', 1 ); error_reporting (E_ERROR | E_WARNING | E_PARSE); set_magic_quotes_runtime(0); class Debug { function startTimer() { global $starttime; $mtime = microtime (); $mtime = explode (' ', $mtime); $mtime = $mtime[1] + $mtime[0]; $starttime = $mtime; } function endTimer() { global $starttime; $mtime = microtime (); $mtime = explode (' ', $mtime); $mtime = $mtime[1] + $mtime[0]; $endtime = $mtime; $totaltime = round (($endtime - $starttime), "

....Why?

From my understanding, it's nothing to worry about. Usually just a quick refresh takes care of it.
My guess it that it's just a bit of a glitch in the forum software communicating with your web browser. I haven't had it happen since I switched to Opera, so you may want to consider that.

Yep, refresh fixes it. I was just curious. smile.gif Thanks Hecc. i might check Opera out, from what Zach says, it sounds pretty good.

I'm on IE right now (not my fault) and refreshing doesn't solve the problem. I have to close the window and open a new one.

Firefox is far superior.... just for the sake of tabbed browsing.

Nicole won't use it though. Name is good enough. Spaz

You mean isn't good enough? Opera is by far a more superior name than Firefox. And it has tabs too. So there. tongue.gif

EDIT:Fixed a typo. dry.gif

I'd say that Opera tabs are better than Firefox tabs, because if you click this link in Opera, it will go smoothly into a new tab, whereas Firefox will launch a whole new window unless you do all that hard heavy technical stuff, like right-clicking and going to "Open In New Tab"...

I sprained my finger opening a new tab in Firefox once.

I abandoned Mozilla about a month ago. I started having a ton of problems with it. So far, Opera is my browser of choice.
And yes, AN, I had the problem you mentioned too. Right after I made that post, actually. It seems to have smoothed out though.

Hmmm, I've never had any problems with IE, and can't really see the point of going to the trouble to get another browser.

Most of the problems with IE stem from the enormous amount of huge, gaping security holes that exist within every version.

Here's a list of known IE security holes. 56 known.

Ironically, while I was searching for this, I got my first "illegal operation; we're shutting you down, punk" message in Opera. sad.gif
