My axe of choice is a plain ol' 5-piece drum kit, with crash and ride cymbals, and the addition of a shiny Stagg double bass pedal and a cowbell.

I confess. From time to time i like to rock the bongos.
*insert weird mouth noises and wacky arm gesticulations insinuating bongo rockage*
That one electronica song with the bongo's at the end - Is it really as mind-blowing as everyone says it is? Or are they just trying to make me feel better?

Where did you get one? (Did you have to build it yourself?)
I used to screw around with all sorts of electronic stuff... including using
multiple effect pedel/devices and feed-back loops with no actual instruments. AlthoughI can play a little keys.. and supposedly was learning to play the guitar.. till I broke my nut! (sorry... just couldn't resist.. but the "nut" that holds the strings in place at the top of the neck is broken)
One day when I have my own place again, I'll be able to take all that stuff out of storage and play once more.

And I suck.
Anyone who plays the xylophone (or timpani or marimba etc) is cool with me!! Be in my band!!

I got a portable bergerault 3.5 octave a couple of years ago. I'm learning the keys, but not at the rate I'd like. I've dispelled guitar chords which I arpeggiate. 2, 3 and 4 mallets depending.
I play upright percussion. Cocktail drum with kick pedal, congas, bongos, snare (just got a 10" pd export which I love,) chimes, hi hat, splash, crash and a 20" dark ride. Toys, thunder drum, shakers, guiros and other stuff. play with brooms, brushes, mallets, sticks, rods and hands. Just about to leave for rehearsal right now. I'm using more hardware so's snare, conga and ride all mount on one stand which is nice.
going to atlanta tomorrow for the finn brothers show. An online friend from Nashville who plays and I plan to jam while waiting at the door. nice thread.
lots of percussionists I see. I knew Hecc plays. Oh yeah- when the clock struck 1/1/2000 I went nuts ringing in the new year.

All musicians: what songs do you like to jam on? were you particularily proud of any song you managed to be able to play or figured out on your own etc?
