"the young rebel who destroyed the death star"

Horrible, horrible line and once again unnecessary alteration from lucas What was wrong with the original dialogue? And what the hell is he on? Even these minor changes ruin the originals.

Recall all the prequels and release the Original Trilogy on DVD in their original format with one slight change - change the Episode numbers to 1, 2 and 3.

That's a pretty good idea, actually.

The man has no concept of reality. He's the one who drew up this universe and now he can't stay within the lines. I hope he's happy with his latest changes. Because if anyone remembers he'll look foolish when he alters them again.

yeah, right.

Hayden: It's not fair! I should get to wear the Vader suit! I'm Anikan Skywalker damn it!
Lucas: Fine, then. Wanna be in Return of the Jedi?

On the other hand, I can live without seeing Palpy in A Lost Hope.

I think if anyone were to watch these new versions of the movies, they'd never be able to stand Star Wars again. I think for even the most dedicated fans, our Chefelfs and Paladins, this will be the final straw. Tragic day for cinema history.

He's going to have to do this again after the third movie comes out... then he'll start redoing the prequels and somehow make them worse.

I think that the title of "A lost hope" would be hillarious for the third prequel. They could work in something about Luke getting lost on Tattooine and it would be a great description of the prequels as a whole!

Guys, I've changed my mind, I'll be buying and watching this hideous abomination too. Why you might ask? So I can see the full extent of butchery on the OT trilogy and know what has become of the formerly greatest movie series of all time.

I have the original ESB and ROTJ, but I don't have the very original Star Wars, since I lost it a few years ago. So I have no choice but to flip in the Special Edition and pretend that the extra scenes aren't there.

My 'new' plan is this: Watch the originals first in one go, then watch the prequels and the butchered OT after it. Then go with the 'put them on a shelf and never watch them again' thing... not that's a problem, I haven't watched any Star Wars movie all year!

You hit the provebial nail on the proverbial head, JYAMG!

P.S. I already can't stand TPM... Jar Jar is so hideous I can't bear not grimacing every time I see him move or hear him talk!

speaking of TPM, I heard that George is going back to make special editions of
TPM and AOTC. This actually might be the best news I've heard all day.
Or the worst. Imagine if George gives is 20 more minutes of uncut JarJar being re-edited back into TPM. It would be the death of us all! But I guess we can still hope for the best (yeah right).

A really horrible thought just entered my mind... If George is changing Boba Fetts lines to a different dialect, doesn't it stand to reason that all stormtrooper lines will be changed as well?

[LAUGHING HYSTERICALLY]The highlights include Sebastian Shaw's head being swapped with Hayden Christensen's and a new victory celebration, the latter including the Prequel planet of Naboo, complete with dancing Gungans (one of whom cries out "Wesa free!").[/LAUGHING HYSTERICALLY]

This is just the f**king last straw! yell.gif yell.gif yell.gif

Thanks for the link. If you putz around they lead you to the Jedi scene with music. The smiling cast with clapping Lando has been sped up to sync with the new music. Although I'm pretty sure that part was done in '97. The ewok laugh track long gone by now.

And you don't have to pay big bucks at Ebay like he said. I paid thirteen bucks including shipping for an authorized, well in 1995 anyway, set.

"In this version, the entire cast has been replaced by ewoks."

It's not so far-fetched.
