I have read recently that Jabba the Hutt (a.k.a George Lucas) is releasing even more DVDs this year.... milking his franchise for every last cent he can get his hands on.

You can expect the two Ewok movies.... WOW! dry.gif

And you can also expect the two animated series - Ewoks and Droids. Hold me back... dry.gif

I know what you want to ask - where and when can you get these fine new items.... not quite sure, I just came across it somewhere. But I'm sure you could find details if you wanted.

But seriously, does anyone want to still argue that George isn't solely thinking about making money these days? This latest news ought to be concrete proof that Lucas' sole motivation for anything involving his films these days is how to make money.

Well, I'm not trying to argue that he doesn't want to make money or anything, but why does the release of a few goofy television series prove anything? Why else does Anyone release stuff on dvd, if not to make money? I guess there's some pride stuff involved, sure, but a lot of it is money. I know that if I had the rights to some goofy television series that I knew people want to own on dvd, I'd release them. That doesn't make me automatically motivated only by greed.

I'm just waiting for him to release the Star Wars Christmas Special on DVD. I would welcome a director's commentary on that baby.

I think a lot of people would... too bad it's never, ever going to happen. From what I've heard, Lucas loathes the Holiday Special to the extent where he refuses to admit it ever existed. Ironically, if he did re-release it on DVD it would probably sell like hot cakes...

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

George Lucas is a moron. Once Star Wars Episode III comes out, I'm just going to buy all the Star Wars prequels on DVD, watch the movies from Episode 1 to 6 in one sitting, and place them on a shelf... where they will NEVER be watched again.

Once that's over with, I'll be doing whatever I can to forget about Star Wars and sever my childhood ties to it. I will not buy anything Star Wars related, books, games or otherwise and just shrug it all off.

This I vow. Now all I have to do is to prove it to myself and everyone else.

I can't understand how you could put yourself through the agony of watching the prequels one more time, let alone purchasing them. But I completely understand severing your childhood connections to Star Wars though. You're speaking my language on that one.

I know one good reason. To verify all the Chefel's reasons to hate and add your own to the list. As somebody pointed out in this formum, it IS fun, you know smile.gif . That is why I am saving to buy the SW OT SE, hoping that Chelelf will wite his reasons so I can compare.
That is also why I am going to cough up money for LORT:ROTK EE: to watch it all back to back and write my own list why TTT is much wrose than FOTR and ROTK sucks ulitmately.
And if I have any money left, I will buy KOTOR and play it as a consolation after all the suffering I went through watching all these films.

Yeah, Return of the King was a fine flick. And the Two Towers was quite good too.

Actually I thought the DROIDS cartoon series was very well done and interesting. The Ewoks cartoon was crap, but the Droids cartoon actually had some great stories in it.

Plus it had a great theme song and music!! {..I'm in ..........trouble again!!........}

I'll bite and buy the Droids DVD! rolleyes.gif

I liked DROIDS as well, and my little brother liked EWOKS (well, he liked them both).

Of ocurse, this was a long time ago. I suspect now they may be crap.

"I had a lot of different ideas. At one point, Luke, Leia and Ben were all going to be little people, and we did screen tests to see if we could do that." -George Lucas, in STAR WARS: the Annotated Screenplays (p197).

(i never saw the originals, so i will be able to enjoy them the way people who never saw the OT can enjoy the SEs of them!

as for TTT and ROTK (i didn't like TTT untill I saw the EE, and ROTK i liked only because i knew what was missing.)
But madame, i agree that so far FOTR is the best film

I liked both the theatrical and extended cuts of The Fellowship of the Ring - that movie outclasses both its successors combined. I MUCH prefer the Extended Cut of The Two Towers. It's like a much better film, and a complete film. The theatrical cut felt rather empty.

As for Return of the King, the theatrical cut feels like an extended preview of the real movie. I cannot wait for the Extended Edition. I am SURE it will be a far better movie - as it will have substance and some badly needed room to breathe.
