This is a request for feedback on an old essay of mine, Perhaps some console videogames we currently call "Role-Playing Games" should be called "Orko-Playing Games"

I would point out Fallout/Fallout 2 as examples of games that break the mold. In those games, your character could generally do whatever you wanted them to do(assuming it was physically possible for them to do it), assuming you don't want them to do something too off the wall like rape animals or something. Hell, apparantly you can play through Fallout 2 in its entirety killing only the end guy.
