Star Wars fan chokes wife after toy damage
07:30 AEST Fri Nov 4 2011
By ninemsn staff

A Star Wars fanatic strangled his Thai bride to death after she destroyed his collection of toys and memorabilia in Manchester.

Ricki La Touche, 30, told the Preston Crown Court Pornpilai Srisroy, 28, damaged his Darth Vadar and Luke Skywalker memorabilia as part of a campaign to "make his life hell," the Daily Mail reports.

La Touche choked her to death during a subsequent argument in April at their home in Leigh, Greater Manchester, before going to his mother's house to tell her what had happened.

La Touch — who met his wife in a Bangkok bar 10 years ago and married her on his fourth visit to the country two years later — told the court he snapped after she threatened to leave him and go back to Bangkok.

The 30-year-old claimed he was the victim of domestic abuse from his wife, who once hit him over the head with a pool cue and threatened to kill him and "cut him up and eat him".

When police came to arrest La Touche he told them: "We argued and she said she was going to make my life hell, she's put me through it before, I couldn't let that happen again."

La Touche, who admitted manslaughter, was jailed for life yesterday after a jury found him guilty of murder.

Now not to, undermine the tragedy of this extreme case of nerdrage, but that's exactley what I'm going to do, re-reading this bit:

I think these two would have made an awesome sitcom.

It's a good 'un.

I never understand why these guys don't walk away from these relationships. If a gal hit me over the head with a pool cue, I'd be out of there in less than 12 parsecs.

Which is why you don't need to import your wife from Thailand like so many others.

Especially not one named Pornpilai, of all things...

I just feel bad for him explaining his presence to his cell mates. I killed my Thai bride for breaking my toys.

They're going to assume it was a ladyboy for a start.

He's going to have a fun time in there.

Holy shit a news article! Thanks Barend.

I can see why some dont leave bad relationships... I can't see killing her though she seems to have been a bitch. I'd have kicked her once or twice, but damn.

Ah, kicking willful women, a gentleman's last resort. After all, they only ever tell you not to hit girls. Everything else seems to be well within the bounds of a righteous upbringing.

You think maybe the guy was held back early in grade school for not sharing?

And yeah, if a woman's first name starts with porn ... I just can't see a healthy, lasting relationship happening. Since death generally isn't good for one's health and that's how this one ended, I would like to use very sloppy logic and say that I have a valid point here.
Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

Well I'm sold on that logic. What names would make for a healthy, long-lasting relationship then?

Or just an unhealthy, yet filthy-rich relationship, I won't discriminate against those.
