I should have pointed out that the song wasn't serious, but rather in mockery. If you heard it, you'd understand. I forget that lyrics don't often translate well to text. Taking into account that by only typing that bit out I removed the context. It's not really that bad when played.

Fair enough, but while that song was okay, there is a large body of slash fiction work on the internet and if I ever stumble across it, I'm always sorry I did. It is...
off-putting to say the least.

According to the book, George himself threw a fit the first time he read slash fiction. If I remember correctly, it was a Bespin rape story with Vader doing Solo. Never read any myself, never will either. Sick people writing that stuff.

I never thought I'd sympathise with Lucas over anything, but I have to say that I can't blame him. I think I'd have the same reaction if it was a character I'd created. I don't think the people writing it are necessarily 'sick' - you'd be surprised at the weird sexual fantasies otherwise normal people can have - but I certainly wouldn't want to read that sort of thing myself.

Having said that, I once followed a link from somethingawful.com or some site like that and came across a story about Anakin and Padme's courtship, based on the idea that they had a kind of sado-masochistic relationship. And to be honest, it made a lot more sense than the way their relationship was presented in the film. After all, why else would Padme be attracted to an obnoxious, semi-psychopathic jerk like Anakin?

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

By sick, I meant using characters that a lot of kids appreciate to depict something like that is highly inappropriate, that is all. As for normal peoples fantasies, nothing surprises me anymore. I visit somethingawful every week... biggrin.gif cool.gif
