i decided to write a story,(i've started to write hundreds of stories, but they never get anywhere, and i never take the time to write them well.), and i'm going to spend time on it, which means i need research. i need information about world famous fighters. i'm talking about fighters who had that natural talent, and made a world record, created a really effective fighting art still used today, or were simply prodigies of brawling. example: that boxer, can't remember his name, who had a record of 40 something victories, all of which were knockouts, but died in a plane crash still holding the heavyweight belt. i need info about people like that. any info would be nice.

(world famous assassins, and other related things count too.)

www.google.com

Bruce Lee
Mohammed Ali

Do this if you want info on the recognised very best in their styles. If you want more specific details here's some other stuff for you based around boxing:

Most consecutive successful defenses:
Joe Louis (1937-49) 25 defences

Longest uninterrupted title reigns:
Joe Louis 11 years, 7 months

Here are 4 fighters who went undefeated in their carrer:

1. Rocky Marciano 49-0
2. Jack McAuliffe 33-0-9 and 3 no contests
3. Laszlo Papp 27-0-2
4. Ji Won Kim 16-0-2

Hope this gives you a start.

oh, and that boxer who was undefeated until a plane crash, he won cause he would punch his opponents in the arms until they're arms were too tired to punch back.

Here's a link that has a whole heap of masters etc detailed on it. Again I'm not sure if it will provide you with exactly what you're after, but there is a lot of background info on a whole range of masters in varying styles. Please note that not all of the links appear to be working.
