Ugh... I am about 70 pages into The Number of the Beast by Robert A. Heinlein. It's so profoundly dull that I think it's going to be the first book in a LONG time that I just give up on.
Read The Moon is a Harsh Mistress before you read Number of the Beast. It's really good. Number of the Beast I believe was a book he wrote after a very long hiatus, but his other stuff is much better.

I'm rereading Duncton Wood. Lots of small furry moles having lots of sex and murdering each other. It's one of the only books I've read in which I think the story/message is more important than characters. A bunch of moles grow complacent and have their tunnel-system taken over by a weird cult that establishes itself as the only true faith, controlling its flock with a harsh rewards-punishments system, and torturing/killing all unbelievers. Eventually it spreads to cover almost all of England, and moles who want to worship The Stone have to perform the rituals in secret. It's blatantly Catholicism attempting to wipe out Paganism. Pretty intense nastiness. Especially the big fat creepy paedophile mole. All the supposed 'enlightened' elder moles and such keep preaching rather Buddhist philosphies and suchlike though.

I'm gonna try to read 'Christine' now, but I have a feeling I'm gonna have a hard time getting into it.

I confess, I read the first 6 Dragonlance chronicles until a month or so ago. Currently I'm reading The Celtic Ring by Björn Larsson. Great book if you're into sailing
Not to mention I read Glamis the Great and Mein Kampf, too.
