Venting frustration...

1.Vaders first breath. Brilliant. A really good scene, marking the birth of one of cinemas greatest iconic villains ever. Then he goes Frankenstein "Nooooo!!" and the scene immediatly goes down the toilet. Goddammit George!!
2. How unbelievably stupid is the script anyway? Especially when it comes to Anakins turn. This is IMHO the biggest flaw, not only from a logical perspective but also an emotional one. It is the entire point for making the PT.
3. Padmé feels like dying. "There is nothing physically wrong with her..."
4. "I have the higher ground." What?? We're talking about Jedi here. They jump. Really high. Again, Lucas feels the urge to make idiotic explanations where none are needed.
5. Where's Wedge? Red Two? Porkins for f**ks sake!? Jedi, lotsa droids and clones but no ordinary people to care for. The action scenes are all sensory overload, not the drama enhancing excitement of the OT. Yes, there are Jedi and Jedi children being killed but it doesn't provoke the emotions and outrage it should. It's like Lucas is afraid to portray Anakin as the murdering bastard psycho he is.
6. Wookies are cool, I like them. Did they add anything to this movie? No.
7. Palpatine said "midichlorians" and my ears went numb.
8. Almost everything attempting to tie RotS to ANH feels contrived. So C-3PO and Artoo spends 18 years on the Blockade Runner with Captain Antilles? Lame!

There's lots more, but above all, what I am disappointed in is the wasted potential. I can sense an amazing, powerful movie somewhere under all that crap. (I couldn't when it comes to the previous PT installments). And on a few occasions it does shine through. I'm a sucker for binary sunsets, and in that last scene I saw a glimpse of Star Wars.

Then he goes on a rampage. One doesn't become that evil that quickly. Especially if the whole point was to save Padme but Palpatine says something like: "I don't know how to use this power, but if we work together I'm sure we can find out" WTF?
Yes Luke was on the verge of turning in ROTJ, but he was driven by his anger and hatred towards Vader and the emperor because of various reasons and what Vades said about Leia.
It was almost as if Anakin made a conscious desicion to become evil after he killed Mace. "Hmm, save Padme = killing jedichildren? Okelidokeli!"

I definitely agree with 1 and 4. I feel the movie should have ended with the shot of Vader's mask being placed, and the "higher ground" bit was bad. Both Anakin and Obi's dialog were horrible.
The rest I can agree with slightly, but they didn't detract from the movie for me. I thought Anakin's fall was satisfactory. They didn't have time to draw it out any longer.

Watching OWK just walk away like an asshole was too much for me.
I don't think the "higher ground" comment wasn't problematic, just that we stopped caring to the point that it was ineffective.

As do I, but I seem to recall a certain Sith Lord having the "higher ground" in TPM against an unarmed Obi-Wan. Well, well. I do agree that Obi-Wan should try to save him in the end though but it didn't bother me that much.

And when I saw Vader on that Starboard deck I had this conflicting feeling like I was watching Empire Strikes Back or something, its like the clash of films, OT meets PT, it felt weird in a bad way sort of like it didnt belong there, it would be better if they were standing in Imperial City on a balcony or something, in the coruscant night looking up into the sky as stardestroyers depart on theyre journeys.
Other than that, yes theyre was problems with the dialogue, and emotion in the relationships between the characters. And the Noooooooooooo, killed the mood.
Yes it was odd, but I guess I would say that Anikan was reassured by Palpatine at that moment, and Anikan probably realised that now he had no choice, because the damage was done, Mace Windu was dead. Also add to that his constant brainwashing by Palpatine.
ALSO I HAVE TO ASK, WHERE WAS MON MOTHMA? WAS SHE EVEN IN THE MOVIE? DID I MISS HER? IF SHE WAS PLEASE TELL ME IN WHICH SCENE?

I think she was cut, but I expect shes lurking on the DVD somewhere.
Anakins whole 'turn' only works if you place it in the context of AotC and the promises he made to himself after his mother died. When I saw the scene you mentioned, I couldnt help but notice that Anakin did not say the words to Sidious with much conviction. Then later, we find out why- he was planning on killing Sidious himself and his own plan was to take Padme and live in peace. He didnt care about anything else at that point.
So, although he turned to the darkside out of love, ultimatly it was a selfish, self serving, sith-like move, which of course in the end came to nothing. but recognising that thats what he wanted, then seeing him broken at the end, he lost everything he loved and wanted to keep (and I loved Sidious' grin- the evil bastard) just killed me. I personally thought it was a brilliant ending.
It also casts new light on Vaders attempt to win over Luke, now it feels like a genuine plea, and its not the black and white scene it was before.
p.s so basically hes evil, but in his own mind, from his "point of view", hes doing the right thing.
