I am looking for a wireless headphones. Not just any any wireless headphones. My very first one with the base unit didn't turn off so easily. This one I now got is a Philips. What happens is:
When I turn the input volume up the automatic volume controller limits the volume too low. Then any lower level of volume is timed before switching off interrupting the most quiet and crucial events. When I turn the volume up to make the base unit turn on it distorts horribly.
SRS 3D stereo makes it worse because I have to lower the volume or it distorts.
The circuit board only has three variable resistors. Bass, treble and tuning range I think but no way to turn off or adjust that useless timer.
I brought a Sennheiser wireless headphones which said nothing about a switch off timer on the base unit. The shop didn't even know. I sent it back because that too had a switch off timer, it is a feature they call: Automatically turns on/off. Same distortion problems and hissing. They patronize and assume the same volume level is used by everybody and the timings which leaves no room for flexibilty. On the packaging they use the words freedom, feel free to roam around but it isn't if it keeps on cutting out.
I became so frustrated one night I threw the Philips base unit out of the way and just went back to this old style wired headphones.
What I am looking for is a customizable base unit so I can manually tune, or at least a base unit without that timer.
Anybody here shares my frustration of cutting of your enjoyment timer?

Wireless Headphones just aren't suited for my enthusiastic ears, I prefer wired ones, don't care if I have to drag meters of cables along with me.
