And just for the guys who don't read topic descriptions.
SPOILERS FOLLOWING
Which moments (if any) in the XDAS-games really made you shit your pants?
Well, it probably doesn't scare as well as Silent Hill, since pixelated 2D isn't THAT scary, but there were still some moments were I really just tought "F***!!"
In 5DAS it was in the bathroom. It wasn't particulary scary, but it just caught me off guard. I expected the kid just sitting in the bath tub chanting strange things, but then this friggin skeleton jumped at me xD
In 7DAS it were mostly the chasing scenes. Just for the fact that you didn't dare to walk towards a door because he WILL come out of that door and slash you the instant you wanted to walk through xD
And the doctors room shocked me, too. Was expecting HIM to lie at the door bleeding. Not the remains of the entire crew.
TN was just scary for itself. Especially the first time you play through it, since you never know what exactly awaits you behind the next door. But the most scary thing was probably "it hurts".
6DAS sadly hadn't so much scary moments. It had an eerie feel over it, but you could see the most scares coming.

I think 6DAS would have been scarier if you could die, I mean would 7DAS have been as scary if you just woke up again when the wealder got you.

The bathroom-scene in 5 Days a Stranger made me scream like a little girl too at first, but it quickly faded into a giggle - which happened almost every time when chubby-faced Trilby was trying to display a feeling of shock, but only managed to achieve some kind of "I'm a balloon! yey!"-look.
Trilby's Notes got me scared during those awfully quick reality shifts. But if people had actually walked around the hotel, so you would never know whether a bad or a good guy is about to emerge from the darkness behind the doors, well, then I probably never would have touched a computer again.
6 Days a Sacrifice scared me a little when Sam opened the door and the tall man came in (really, he should have done that in slow-motion, accompanied by his own theme-song). I just didn't expect him to come a-knockin' so early in the game.

Apart from the bathroom, I didn't see anything that really frightened me.
7 Days was gory and William's bedroom was both surprising and horrifying. But the Welder chase scenes were definitely the most surprising and scary bits.
Trilby's Notes= Any bit in the dark world, especially in the first instance, where it suddenly flashes into it and you have no idea what to do with all the corpses. I could almost smell the rotting flesh.
6 Days wasn't scary in comparison to the others, proably because the exposure to the first three nullified my fear receptors. I didn't find the Prince as scary as I thought I would. Janine's transformation was surprising, but not terribly chilling.
The scariest, as everyone knows, was Trilby's Notes.

7DaS - The torso coming out of that vent (? It's been a while since I played it), I didn't expect that. Or the chase scenes. Those scared the crap out of me.
TN - The flashbacks were very freaky for me. Just knowing that something very strange or disturbing was going to happen filled me with dread every time they'd show up. I think the scariest was (gawd, I'm really forgetful. lol) the one in the hotel, I guess? Where that guy goes to stay for the night?
6DaS - Wasn't too scary in terms of the others, but I thought it was kind of twisted. It got me thinking a lot, and made me a bit uneasy (especially when.. lol. Janine? Is walking around with that mask, or the scenes inside Chzo.). The ending scene was amazing, though. Creepy, but amazing.

7DaS - Torsooooooo =D The chase scenes were great, too, especially with the music that was used.
TN - The voices. I eventually started taking off my headphones everytime there was a shift.
6DaS - ..the safe. The one in the barracks. When he says something along the lines of "something's holding it from the other side", my imagination ran wild. Of course, it was disappointing, but I was hoping for like a severed arm that was holding the door closed or something equally weird.

7DAS: The chase sequence, my god, I didn't finish the until one year after I found the Doctor.
Trilby's Notes: Random reality switches and "It hurts"es really messed with me head
6DAS: When Jenine showed up in full-on welder costume.

Heh, if you're willing to spend 5$ on the Special Edition you get an early warning system for the chase sequence.

I can recall being startled half to death at least one other time playing the games, but I don't remember exactly when it was.
For the most part, the series didn't really scare me that much while I was playing it.
It was when I was in bed at night and I'd lie awake thinking about it all.
The Welder scared the shit out of me in bed when I was on holiday at a cabin in Idaho. Every time I heard the wind do something I was absolutely convinced that John DeFoe was going to come in and rip my entrails out.

7 days: When you go into Williams room. I've only played the game once since then.
Trilby's Notes: The hallucinations. Thats the only thing keeping me from playing the game now.
6 days: When I called Samantha's phone, the Welder appeared and stabbed Theo.

I remember being terrified of the chase sequnce in 7 Days too. Actually, the first minor one more so. I didn't realize you could do stuff and the captain just came over and strangled me.
Acutally, now that I think of it, the entirety of TN had me horrified. I ended up using all 20 of the saves AGS gives you, (and would've used at least 5 more,) because I was so afraid that I'd die. The reality shifts had me unable to breathe because I had no idea when they'd come, until I had the briliant idea of counting how many rooms you had to walk into until it shifted. That made the game a lot easier for me.
