It seems to me that it's an intentionally open ending. Clearly Chzo's plans are not yet complete.

Indeed. It shall all be explained in '8 Days A Substitute [Prince]' or maybe '9 Days A Sequel'...

agreed.
and what did DeCabe actually do on the fifth day, while we were playing Malcolm? Did he sleep against the wall for the entire day?!? Is the title '6 Days' figurative? Is it just a filler between 5 and 7?

If you took note of the dates, youŽll that no time passed for DeCabe while we were playing Malcolm. Day 4 is 27th of July and Day 6 is 28th of July.

Oh, and I'm still wondering... Is Theo the New Prince, or is John DeFoe? I always associate the "it hurts" dialogue you get while playing as TNP with DeFoe (although I know it comes originally from the newlywed's journal in TN), so I just assumed that DeFoe had taken Theo over.

Fairly sure it's at least partially Theo, since Redrobey McSomerset, or whatever the heck he's supposed to be called now, refers to him having a dark future and makes references to becoming a Prince.
