most important, that explains why no one that touched the idol got possessed.
In 5 Days a Stranger, Jim becomes possessed. Your theory fails.

They might not have actually touched it. You wouldn't want to be rooting through a burnt-out building with your bare hands. If you're cleaning/restoring an antique you'd wear gloves too.
The mind being in Trilby doesn't really explain the nightmares or the hallucinations. He spent 5 days locked in a house with a vengeful ghost, saw four dead bodies, was possessed by aforementioned vengeful ghost and killed someone, and according to Yahtzee, wasn't the most balanced of people to begin with. I think nightmares are only to be expected. As for the hallucinations, I'm more inclined to believe eating heavy-duty tranquilizers like sweets caused them. Fair enough, becoming the Welder and seeing the cellar complete with 'Father, why?' does fit nicely, but what with the hangar scene, I think they're just there to creep the hell out of you. They worked.
An evil, possessed rocking chair does have a lot of potential...

ATTORNEY: Ok, Timmy, touch on this little wooden doll in the spot where Trilby touched you.
TRILBY: NOOO! DON'T!!!!
JUDGE: YOU WILL BE HELD IN CONTEMPT! BAILIFF, GET HIS TIE!

Gobbler: I think AdamM was talking about my theory that Trilby and Chris would work together on the next game. It seems ridiculous but since it would be a terror game and not a comedy Yaz would change Chris a lot... I really cant say, I didnt play the Chris game, I just readed the Chris & Trilby comic.
David-Kyo: Yes, I was talking about the time after 5DAS and before T'N, thank you. But you may be sure that if someone got possessed by JD after 5DAS it would be widely notified.
Zewb: Who is Timmy?

Naah, I like my original idea better. Like a paladin teaming up with a rogue in World of Warcraft, just with a different engine (well, shittier graphics) better plot and less frustration.
I can guarantee the better plot since it'll be based upon the comic Chris & Trilby, but focusing on different (more combative) aspects.
