I'm currently playing Seiken Densetsu 3, an RPG which is part of the Secret of Mana series, just because I noticed that I had downloaded it at some time, and I'm bored.

I find it really interesting that my sorceress currently has a cape that affords her a 59 in defense. My fighter's steel armor only grants him a 56 in the defense department, and he's two levels higher, and his defense rating (how well he uses his armor) is higher.

The most intriguing part is that I just went into a store that was selling a tiger skin bikini that would boost her defense by an additional 10 points. My questions are, "What the hell was that tiger eating?", and "Why is a fighter so much weaker than a magic user when it comes to basic defense?"

Anyone have solutions to these?

Nope, but I'm going to go download that game right now and I have no idea why.

It never came out in the US, so you'll either need to be able to read Japanese, an English patch, or a fansubbed version. I'd offer to send it to you over IRC, but that might be a lot more complicated than just finding it on google.

The one I have is pretty good translation-wise. The txt that was zipped with the ROM says I got it from here, but the URL doesn't seem familiar, so I'm not sure.

edit: blink.gif I just went to the URL to see, and it's all in some scandinavian language or summat... I didn't get it from there, so I have no idea. happy.gif

Oh well, I'll just stick to playing FF3, watching Cannibal: The Musical (normally and then with drunken directors’ commentary for the umpteenth time), and posting here all at the same time for right now...

Dammit, I've got nothing to do!

Which FF3? I've heard so much about Cannibal. I need to see it, and it's on the list along with about 5000 or 6000 other plays, movies, books, screenplays, and series.

I was going to write a review of this game in the Arcade, but I couldn't be arsed.

The real third one, I think it must have been translated or something, I dunno. As far as Cannibal goes, you can get a copy cheap at Troma. It's absolutely brilliant!

Figures that I would find it there after ordering it at Overstock.com for five or six bucks extra...

It's also free depending on if I can find someone to borrow it from or summat. I have a bunch of friends who love it, so one surely has it.

I used to have Cannibals:The Musical on VHS, as I taped it when it was on tv, but it got wiped awhile ago.

Surely you realise that bikinis equal vague nudity, and vague nudity equals sheer invunerability? smile.gif

Fine. Even going with that, her sprite and portrait stay the same, though, so there's really not even a vague suggestion of nudity. At least the "rose leotard" she gets after the "tiger bikini" has a reason to give more defense than the bikini (then her belly button's covered by some thin fabric), but I still fail to see why it gives more defense than plate mail or steel armor. It occurs to me that this fantasy game isn't that realistic. sad.gif

A certain smartarse person in a superior capacity has just looked over my shoulder while I was checking this site in my break, and, asked if I was looking at porn and threatened to sack me! I let you all know this so that I can sue him for unfair dismissal if he takes it further.
