I kinda get what he's saying. It's been so long since I last hopped on my board that I'm now one of those non-skaters who just can't quite get into the game. Also the story is stupid, if they're going to make it a pure skate sim then why not make it a series of brilliantly designed levels with some well thought out challenges as in the first 2 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games, instead of waving about a stupid prison back story...

Which reminds me, I gotta revisit Tony Hawk's Pro Skater again some time, for nostalgia's sake.

Again, I didn't play or even hear about this game before it was mentioned to me two minutes ago, so no I'm not really entitled to criticize, but yes - why do all the potentially fun games need to include a storyline? I wouldn't mind them spending that budget on simply improving the gameplay instead.

THPS 1 & 2 were fantastic, especially #2 on the Dreamcast with it's graphical improvements over the PS version. Then it got too involved with the typical anarchic anti-authority BS that everyone thinks skateboarding is about.

I tried the demos of both Skate 1 & 2, and couldn't get into either of them sad.gif

I loved Tony Hawk Underground, although the entire storyline felt like something that had to be endured in order to unlock the fun stuff.

Note to game developers: That is not a good thing.
