Has the Hollywood machine discovered Yahtzee? Or specifically, the ideas he gives away for free on his website?

Because I saw the trailer for the new film Eagle Eye and it reminded me VERY MUCH of the start of Yahtzee's pretend FPS, No Experience Necessary....

Or maybe I'm mental.
It's not stalking! It's artistic reference!

Standard thriller stuff. Unlikely they stole it from Yahtzee.

It's like comparing Dr. Who to MacGyver. Yes, the two characters are very, very similar, but that's because they're both based off of a formula, not because one writer or another stole the idea.

Curiously enough some minor concepts (?) were taken from half life. Or half life 2. It all depends on which was around when he wrote that.

The fact that Yahtzee described it as "a script for a highly derivative FPS game" doesn't exactly suggest that he thought of every last detail of it himself. And it's normal practice to make the main character someone who's completely new to what's going on, it gives a bit of an excuse to pour exposition down the reader/player/audience's throat with an oversized funnel, so the movie isn't that similar. But if you really wanted to, you could make a conspiracy theory out of this. Obviously Hollywood is stalking Yahtzee!
