I read an article today that siad that 175,000 new blogs are started every day. By my calculations (which are, of course, extremely flawed in that they were done by me and they don't take into account the fact that the number has steadily een growing) that means that there are 285,900,000 more blogs since I officially launched chefelf.com in 2002. Using that same terribly flawed math that means there are 436,800,000 more blogs than when lanceandeskimo.com was launched in 1999. Even though I'm pretty sure that's before blogs (or at least the word blog) were invented.
This handy (and inaccurate) information was brought to you by Google Docs & Spreadsheets.

I would think a closed system like the internet would be easy to moniter and quantify. BUt its' not!

It's fun to assign numbers to things that cannot be quantified!

part of the difficulty in quantifying the internet is due to pages that are created when the user does something like search or fill out a form. how do you decide when something becomes a new, separate web page?

Remember Emu's face, people; one day it's going to be on the news alongside a headline about blowing some landmark to smithereens, and then we can all sigh and say, "She was such a normal person".....
....We'd be lying though.

But you'd really think the internet was easy to control. Right now there are about 1000 consipracy theories I bet that detail how it is all monitered and controlled.
Of course it's not though, else child porn offenders would be cut down left right center, so fast that their pages could only last a few minutes.
