Well, I dug up my old N64 yesterday and was playing it, and wondered, well, the question above.
I want to know what you think.

Melee, obviously! I never understood why anyone would choose Meele over 64. Meele is basically the same game but much improved. The only thing I can think of is if someone didn't like thier favorite character being more balanced (Link is slower in Melee, but I still use him more than anyone else.)
I finally got a sig!

I like them equally. Melee had a few new nice bits, but 64 is a classic. Melee is a bit better, but a bit worse as well in many ways. It also has alot of virtually cloned characters (Falco/Fox for example)

I've only played 64 a few times, so I can't really comment. Though I am absolutly terrible at the game.

They're forgiven for taking the cheap way out, cause they added like, 10 brand new characters.

I like melee better. Graphics, fighting and balance were all improved. In 64, the fighting was slower and lots of the time just devolved into rolling dodge contests.

This is like asking if one would prefer to use a damaged football helmet or a slightly more damaged one.

Not entirely sure what you're implying there. Care to elaborate? sad.gif

Melee of course. The two are alike but Melee has more characters, more levels, better graphics and more game modes.

Man, I can't wait for Super Smash Brothers 3.
Sorry, you won't be seeing a smartass sig here. Try with the next poster.

He's saying that neither of them are all that good.

Who, Pikachu? lol

I'm not sure which one I like better, so I chose Melee in the votey thing. I haven't played the games that much to get a good feel of it, since the only times I did play it was at my friend's house, and I'd get my butt kicked every time. sad.gif

Actually no. I probably could have thought of a better obscure analogy. My point is that one has almost no advantage over the other at all.

I found SSB: Melee to be powerfully addictive. With a massive roster, and kickass gameplay, the game f'n rules.

Melee. Only flaw present was the lack of character intros.

For the next game, I want more rules that can be customized. Like having one character metal, or one character invisible. That way there can be cool 4 player games where it's an actually fair 3 VS 1.
