What a lucky coincidence that the floating platform that Obi-Wan stood on glided across the lava and neared the land without being noticably controlled by Obi-Wan. What another lucky coincidence that the lava bucket droid happened to skate parallel to the floating platform so that Anakin could duel with Obi-Wan in the most awe-inspiring way possible in a fight that is waged while standing on top of a Hard Hat Mac from Mega Man. And last, what a lucky coincidence that the lava droid did not just return to its bay when its work became disrupted and instead knew well enough to bob and weave in synchronization with Anakin's thrusts and parries.

And what an unlucky coincidence that the lava bucket droid can't elevate a few more inches so stupid Obi don't get the "higher ground" advantage. sad.gif

Should I imitate fanboys, or shouldn't I? Showmethemoney, what do you think? You've seen my imitation. IS it worth it? unsure.gif

Why yes, your way is one, yet obviously wrong, way to look at it. Clearly, Anakin was timing his attacks with the movements of the bucket droid. However, if you wish to think of it as that Anakin wasn't timing his attacks using his ability to sense the future (WHICH HE WAS!) then basic physics dictates that his attacks would move the droid. The droid being an obviously old droid, overcompensates and moves the way Anakin wanted it to. And it seems that you are complaining that it was a spectacular battle. Everything Lucas does is spectacular. Also, the droid was, as I mentioned, old, so it just followed it's programming, as opposed to reacting. I know I didn't answer in order, but I am sure that anyone who fails to recognise the brilliance of Lucas's work couldn't possibly recognise a small mistake like that.

Man, you are such a great imitator that you almost look like a true fanboy. Are you a fanboy? tongue.gif

But you truly are a great imitator.

I'm not really bothered by the fight that went on. I'm more concerned with the fact that someone would build that kind of array on a volcanic planet that is within reach of the lava to begin with.

The lava from an eruption lands on the platform causing it to melt and break. GREAT DESIGN ASSHOLES! Maybe you should have built it a little higher.

Next, the platform falls into the lava vertically... and doesn't melt! What kind of shit is that? A teensy bit of lava will cause it to melt clear to the core and break! Yet it can float on lava without melting? What, was the part that was hit by the lava the only place it was vulnerable to lava?

I don't know what the hell they were mining from the lava to begin with. I'm sure the film novelization probably explains it as some rare ore, but the people running the show aren't too bright. I'm sure they've lost many a mining droid due to the intense heat of the lava and it costs a small fortune to maintain a workforce like that.In addition, if the lava flows by the main installation that the Seperatists were housed in and killed by Vader at, then they could have made some kind of Hoover dam like set up to shift the lava for whatever precious thing they were looking for, maybe Gollum's ring.

Despite being Jedi/Sith, ObiWan and Anakin would have been effected by the intense heat and fumes, which limit the amount of breathable air in the area, yet they look OK in the film except when Anakin jumps up to spite Obi Wan's advise not to do so and screws himself yet again.

Maybe they would have been better off mining whatever it was they needed from the asteroid belt, where its colder, no lava, and the guys just stand around watching ships land, so there's a labor pool there already.

It was another typical video-game Star Wars battle. When watching it, I felt like I was playing Super Star Wars when watching it.

Yeah, I agree, the whole platform and robot thing is ridiculous. Obi-Wan and Anakin did nothing to control these things to their destination. OH, I suppose we could get the whole, "They used the Force..." nonsense, but even then it looks terrible! I can't believe for a second that they're standing on those things....

And you're absolutely right about the design of the place. It would've made more sense if it had been a stray slash of the lightsaber that severed a crucial cable to snap and crash the array into the lava river...

...but the point about mining the lava is absolutely right! Can you imagine how "polluted" and impure that lava is. It would be absolutely pointless to screen through that stuff to find pockets or streams of isolated elements/material.... It's just so ridiculously improbable! I don't care how advanced you are....
