I recieved an email supposedly from ebay claiming unauthorized ATM access had occured with my account and they needed me to enter all my bank info to verify my identity, 1 question they already have my banking info so why the fuck would they email me asking for it?? Does anyone actually fall for this? Either way beware of this.

Yeah, I heard of this one before. Some lady lost all her savings from it, and I was thinking "Couldn't she tell it was a scam?". I mean, they asked her for her mother's maiden name!

Thanks for the warning, though.

Some people are gullible fools. Even with all of the information that's offered on things like not giving out banking/credit card info, or not opening attachments from people you don't know, people still do it all the time. It's their own fault, really, and they get no sympathy from me.
However, I should also mention that I've gotten emails claiming to be from eBay telling me that unless I verified my eBay account info, my account would be terminated. This struck me as odd, because I was still getting emails from eBay to tell me about their "great deals" on a semi-daily basis. I ignored them and, sure enough, my account is still wonderfully intact. So watch for that one as well.

i haven't fallen for that, the best one so far was one from my ISP telling me my account had been susspended...

i nearly had a heart attack until it asked me to install attached software...
i rang up the ISP once my suspicon was aroused and there was arecorded warning about it...

i don't generally fall for such things...

How would you access your e-mail if the connection was suspended?

The best one I saw was claiming that I was a child pornographer, and had hired them to launder $237.53 for them(that wasn't the exact amount, but I remember it being stupidly precise and low)and that they needed my account details to finish the transaction. I mean really, who the hell did they think they would fool with that?
The Green Knight, SimeSublime the Puffinesque, liker of chips and hunter of gnomes.
JM's official press secretary, scientific advisor, diplomat and apparent antagonist?

Every scam is always the same!
You always need to confirm your account details, with a big enphasis on the passwords and usernames, if not they're gonna shut down you're account or close your connection... it's just so dumb.

I'm always getting stupid mails to confirm my Citibank data, Ebay data and lots of other friggin' stuff data... I mean, I live in Europe, and I don't have an ebay account or a citibank account, nor every other "stupid mail related account" I get in my inbox.
But they do try hard, don't they?

I guess if, say, 1% of the mail receivers are gullible enough, they do get something out of it.
