No, its not even that. The Subliminal Verses was a wonderfully experimental album, and objectivly damn good. This new thing... there's only two things one could call "awesome" about it:

1.) The name. All Hope Is Lost. They should have named a good album that.
2.) The third last song... which is a bonus track, a remix of a song from their last album.

Ah well, I have Shellshock, much better.

Actually I think "All Hope Is Lost" is a perfectly fitting name for any Slipknot album, seeing as how they represent my lost hopes for all that is modern metal.

So, sometime this year, Soulfly put out their new album. Nothing bad, apart from one bonus track.

I'm not sure what's going on in Max Cavalera's head when he thought "A cover of Marilyn Manson's 'The Beautiful People' will close out my new album perfectly!"

It just doesn't work.

Especially not when MC realises he forgot to shout Uno Dos Tres Quatro anywhere else in the album, and just throws it in there to make up for it.

And the award for least surprisingly shitty release of 2008 goes to:

Blues Traveler -- North Hollywood Shootout!

Stand up and take a bow! You did it! You recorded a CD that's worse than Travelers and Thieves with the trump card that is yacht rock!

Still disappointing, though. Truth Be Told gave me some pretty big expectations, only to have them fucking dashed when Bastardos! came out.

Blues Traveler....that's the one-hit-wonder band from the 90s with the big fat harmonica playing guy in the hunting vests right?

Yep!

To be fair, they have released some other good stuff, but most of it is shite.

Deerhunter - Microcastle

Oh. My. God. Amazing. Get it, throw out all of the other CDs you bought this year, and listen to it on repeat.
