Uh...didn't I like...say the exact same thing in an actual thread dedicated to Diablo 3 instead of some '*chortle* Blizz ripped off Yahtzee *guffaw*' thread?

I mean...yes, it says 'Blizzard' in the name, but that doesn't necessarily make it an all encompassing topic.

Hell, if it is the D3 topic, I stand corrected.

In all seriousness, I really made the topic to find out what the Fully Ramblomaticites thought the announcement could be.

Patch you're an arse, you didn't need to bump this topic in an attempt to make a fool out of Goat.

Edit: I stand corrected, it appears Patch copy/pasted the entire thing.

Still, the commentary on the topic title is unnecessary. It would have taken you all of 2-3 minutes of reading a topic with Blizzard in the title to determine that it was regarding Diablo 3. Did you think acting like a child would make you some friends?

...so far the topic has been almost entirely about Diablo 2, people taking issue with the idea of Blizz ripping off the idea, and one post was made about the gameplay video.

I figured that this warranted making a new post about the actual art direction argument, as opposed to derailing this topic from it's bawwing about 'Oh noes! people r dumb on the inturnuts!'

Retardation aside, if it's really necessary to completely disregard the other topic, continue the discussion here - from the gameplay videos, are people right in feeling that D3 is out of cannon with it's prequels, in regards to the 'feel and look'?

Gameplay-wise, I thought it looked pretty interesting, a few new mechanics (destructible scenery with the ability to cause damage to mobs) - although perhaps the outside looked quite a bit like Titan Quest...arguably Titan Quest were following in D2's footsteps...but regardless, the huge boss at the end of the video, with the ability to tear people in half with it's teeth was just pure win.

Oh please. You say I'm acting like a child when it was clearly an attempt at humour. Anyone who had taken 20 seconds to read my comment then read Goat's would have realised that I had obviously copied it, and that was my intention.
Then in reply to Goat's comment, I showed him that it was a D3 topic, or at least that was the attention. Only then did I insult him with 'are you quite done or would you like to continue?' That was only pointing out that he should have read the topic before posting his remark, albeit an arrogant point.
Did I go to far or resort to childish humour?
I don't think so.

I'm mostly curious on plot canon. When they started toying around with the warcraft canon so make WoW fit it made me ill.
The 'feel and look', which I've heard from quite a few people now, is something I can't understand. If it's still the same controls and the same isometric view then I don't see how it could look or feel different.
But then, maybe it'd be like if I saw a third Baldur's Gate as I never really was hugely interested in Diablo 2.

If you're looking for something akin to a Baldurs Gate 3 - check out Dragon Age: Origins - GameTrailers

From what the dev says in the clips, it seems more in-keeping with BG's style than NWN and co has.

I'm interested in how the destruction of the Worldstone's actually altered...well, anything - because it's the Worldstone, I would've thought it's destruction rather...well, important really. But hey, it should be intriguing what they come up with this time.

I swear, if it's fucking aliens, I'm going to go to whatever school of thought both blizz attended when thinking of the draenai, because Lucas obviously was in the same class, and I'm going to make sure they all die, very very painfully.

Guess who I wasn't referring to? The overreaction to something that wasn't even directed at you sure is childish, though. You know what they say -- when you assume it makes an ass out of you and me? Well, it's not true. It only makes an ass out of you.

First of all, if an internet forum has the potential to ruin your day, you may need to take a shower, go outside, and meet a nice girl so she can spurn your advances.

Second of all, the butt rape threat kinda smacks of bi-curiosity.

So I'm guessing this thread also goes into the "all threads you start go to shit" category?

Obviously Diablo has been revived by Mophisto's spirit in coalition with the cult of Baal.
Or some crap like that.

Have you ever heard of Loki? That was done in a Diablo-esque style. Also, I think it was called Sacrifice or something like that which was a copy paste of diablo.
Do the Baldur's gate type games actually have pausing and a DnD style system. The reason I enjoy it is because it's much more convenient then playing a tabletop and other RPG's have more grind then strategy.

Yeah, saw some bits and pieces on Loki, looked interesting actually, had a mate say something good about it if I remember rightly.

And you must be thinking of another game because Sacrifice was a third-person actiony type thing, with five Gods you had to help or hinder, who would then reward you with pretty uh...interesting spells. 'cept it was made by Shiny, who have been doomed to make cool games, but not have them sell well.

And yeah, if you check out the Dragon Age videos, they've got the same 'pause and organise' mechanic, with some pretty epic looking cutscenes.
