I spend most of my time incredibly bored and mostly enjoy sitting at my desk typing away long rambling sentences, much like this one, whenever I feel I've spent too much time on a particular game. As such, I intend on cracking my way into the gaming media, somehow.

Yeah, too bad we grow corn here in Iowa. Corn and pigs. If you want potatoes, you best get to Idaho.

My father was born and raised in Idaho, my mother in Ireland. Starchy blood runs through these veins.

The accent was forced, but at least the presentation had somewhat captured the "feeling" of Zero Punctuation. That was probably due to the wordings he used, because some of them seemed to be much like the ones Yahtzee himself uses when making ZP.

It's not quite there yet, but overall it was better than most of the ZP impersonation-videos.

No kidding.
If the whole world's potato supply was gone tomorrow, replacement plants could probably be cloned from your DNA.

Hey, potatoes got a-peel! *bah-dum-tish!*

.....I am ashamed.

No sarcasm at all. There is corn, soybean and pig in Iowa.
More Potatoes in Florida than here.

If you all want to see some bitching corn mazes, I recommend visiting either Cedar Rapids or Des Moines.

Why is it that when Americans attempt a British accent, everyone's all "Ugh, sounds awful" but when an English person affects an American accent everyone's all "Wow, how'd they do that?"

I mean, we all complain about Natalie Portman's awful accent in "V for Vendetta" but Hugh Laurie's American accent (which is pretty bad) is universally celebrated?

I can't hold making this against the kid. He didn't make it for us. He made it as a way of keeping himself awake while doing his homework.

That said, I'm a little unsettled by it. The simple nature of the ZP videos (photoshop, moviemaker, not technically impressive feats) means it's a style that just about anyone has the capacity to imitate. There's no reason why someone else couldn't have made them, except they lacked the imagination.

Now people, looking at what Yahtzee managed to do with a few tools and a lot of cleverness, instead of taking that as inspiration to be more creative with what THEY have, are instead just doing the same exact thing he's done. And it's an outlet yes, but it's also limiting. Someone else has done that already, and yes it's brilliant, but why don't you DO SOMETHING NEW? Who knows, maybe your thing will be better?

Well damn, you're all right about the accent. He says "As for the accent - I normally have a Northern US accent, but my English accent is actually kind of patched-together from the BBC accent and my mom's Cornish (kind of) accent, so I can understand that it would sound kind of strange."

Where did he say that? You know this guy?

I can't deside if Television Without Pity's "Week Without Pity" is a ZP knock-off or not. On one hand, it's snarky commentary over funny pictures, but Television Without Pity has ALWAYS been snark and the zingers are coming from a ironically sunny gay as opposed to a reliably sullen Brit. No characatures or backgrounds either.

I've been told my generic new England American accent is really good by Americans but that's only because I constantly use it to take the piss (all in good taste of course). Anyway Hugh Laurie's accent is quite good, it was enough to fool a lot of people in the US into thinking he was an American.

Let me guess, am I supposed to be some member who got bored of his old account and decided to start another one, on this same forum?

The way the first few posts had hyped it up, I was expecting something monstrous, but it was actually quite good. Not amazing, but if my tutors had thought of that idea when I was at uni, I probably wouldn't have completly buggered up my degree.
