I would also like something completely new, but since that isn't an option I voted for both Young and Old Trilby.

I think Trilby would be winning this poll by some margin if I hadn't broken him into two votes. Which I did because there's very little middle-ground between the kind of stories told by his younger self and those of his older self.

I understand why that's the case, but a story where his Thievery and his Evil Hunting are actually given equal importance might be a nice challenge. Or a train wreak.

And I'm probably alone in this but I couldn't help but get Deja Vu when the show Supernatural introduced the British thief who deals exclusively in occult relics and allies herself with the heroes just long enough to crack their safe and make off with their best weapon. Sure that particular thief was a lady, but still.

If there's one thing I've learned from television, it's that all English people are suave and cultured and just WAITING to bury a knife right in my back. Or Jason Statham.

Yahtzee told the testers for AoT that he wasn't planning on expanding it

Well, he better be working on something really awesome because if he doesn't plan on expanding on his best game, I don't really see why I should care anymore.

On topic (heaven forbid): I would like to know what happened to Rob Blanc between the games and YTOTW. Let's see him squirm out of that plot hole.

A) Something new and original
cool.gif AGFW, with or without the same characters, And/or with AGFW's way of playing.

From what I recall, he was brainwashed by the Extranoids, and lacking direction, he became a squatter in Yahtzee's volcano base along with Paul. They mention an amnesia at one point in the comic.

Poll Update: Older Trilby is leading by two votes.

Vampires and werewolves were mentioned in passing in the ghost story: maybe if we ask nicely they'll be expanded....

I know both of them have been done so many times it'd be nearly impossible to do them originally, but hey, might be a nice challenge...

Ugh, please no Vamp/Wolf stories. Those have been done to death, it would be about as original as doing a story in space about a crew of people who traverse the universe in search of things, and happen to have guns on their ships. >.>

But in all seriousness, the whole Vamp/Wolf thing has been done down to the core where nothing original can come out of it unless you scrape your gums off and do something -completely- bizarre. The only visible challenge would be said scraping of gums to make something come out of it that people won't be able to guess the ending from the first few paragraphs.

I threw my vote down for 1213 mainly because that was one of my first that I played, and one that I nearly failed a class for because I wanted to beat it instead of writing up my English paper. Granted, my fault, but with the introduction of a stressor and playing 1213, I came to enjoy the story even more. (I know, I'm freakishly weird. It makes for good conversation.)

[stupid joke] How about a wrestling game where you can play as one of the Yahtzee-created character. Rob using hand to do a muscle buster on an oppo, Chris insanely frog jumping on an oppo lying on their back, Tall man doing' a choke slam on Trilby, Trilby making a comeback with an insane 619 and many more of your favorite characters doing cool wrestling moves [/stupid joke]

Older Trilby seems to be winning the poll.

Well, since I've only played the games that are the last 4 on the list ( Finished them though biggrin.gif ). Young Trilby is out, since I guess you can't write much besides;

" I'm going to break into a house today."

Later...

"Damn it, I guess I'll just have to smoke-bomb myself out again."

It just doesn't seem right to do 2 in a row, unless you've place something in there that suggests that your going to sequel it, which Mr Croshaw hasn't.

So I'm left between Rob & Older Trilby. There isn't a Rob Blanc one up yet, which would probably feature Yahtzee, since anyone with half a brain can figure out what happens between Rb3 and
AGFW. Then again I love the character of Older Trilby, so I'm caught. I'll just have to vote for Elmo I guess.

Hey, come on, the Game itself didn't play out like that. The game was pretty action heavy, the story was kept squarely off to the side were it could be ignored, and was clearly not the main attraction... even in that capacity it involved conspiracies and was interesting and intense. Guess that's Ys's professional pride, but his deposible plot was better and more exciting then LOTS of game stories that get released these days.

I'd like to see more of Trilby's younger self; when he was more resilient and idealistically vicious then his later sour, oppressed, and haunted self.

Besides, Art of Theft ended with that teaser about Trilby's father and some long-standing enemies. Please don't tell me that's never going to be paid off.

Game Over, I don't understand you sometimes.

And yes, I'm bumping this.

I'm surprised Chris Quinn didn't get more votes. He even co-starred in a comic. Blanc did too, but he's also not doing that great.

Continuing my proud tradition of hoping for things that are never ever going to happen, like a decent Dune movie and pyrokinetic ability, I voted for Rob, for the same basic reasons that everyone else who voted for him did so; I liked YTOTW, and I want more.
When in doubt, plead sarcasm.
