Have you ever seen Metropolis, one of Germany's finest silent films? If not, I suggest you take a look today.

Notice the incredible expanses, set designs, and attire for a supposedly poor country. This film, evidently, was done on a high budget, which means only a prospering, successful country could have produced this film.

Of course, you must know when sound film was premiered (1927, if you don't), but this film was released some nine months before the first example of such. 1927, let us also not forget, was some six years before Hitler became chancellor of Germany, meaning the economic boom that presumably allowed the film to be made came while the country was still under Weimar rule; hence, the Weimar government, and not Hitler's autocracy, allowed the German people to rebound after the horrors of World War I.

Yep, speaking from a technical political standpoint, Hitler was right to enforce a police state. You can't wage war against the rest of the free world as a Republic or the people will grow weary of fighting

Obviously you have never heard of Rome. But I guess even Rome had to change between a Republic and Dictatorship every few years.

Or a prospering and successful man with a lot of money.

The Weimer Republic did shit all for Germany. Hitler’s Government did shit all for Germany. The only people who prospered during the Weimer Republic, were the people who sucked up to Britain and France after WW1 and the only people who prospered during Nazi Germanys rule, were the Nazis. But perhaps Hitler did do something good for Germany, the war killed over 5,000,000 Germans, that’s plenty of jobs for the people who are left.

The Roman Republic was very different form modern states. The month of March was the first month in their calendar, it's when they go to war. They assumed they'd be conquering someone every year. And the system had to be changed once they took a sizeable amount of territory.

Actually, that is absolutely true. It's a common misconception that western Europe contained any industrialised nations, the reason Germany conquered most of France and those other countries who don't get a mention, and chased the English troops back to their side of the channel was because nobody much actually lived in those countries, and the Allied forces consisted of 4 angry grandmothers with broomsticks.

The myth about the power of the Third Reich, with its industry and formidable army, and of the long struggle the Allied forces had to fight in the west to stop it was merely part of an elaborate ruse to make Western Europe seem more formidable to the USSR in preparation for the Cold War. You see, Stalin was backed by at least 12 angry grandmothers, who only had 6 broomsticks between them, and they wanted the ones owned by western Europe.

Yes but that has nothing to do with anything.

No, on the western front it was 500,000 Allied troops versus 700,000 German troops. What the Allies should have done was invade Germany when Germany was busy with Poland and catch the German army off guard.

By 1944 the Soviet Armed Forces consisted of over 15,000,000 people and they had plenty of small arms between them.
