This movie looks like its going to be the best in the series by far. I was shopping in a store recently, and was browsing in the toy aisle and notice some of the toys that are promoting this movie. It looks like Jack Sparrow & crew will have some high seas adventures in Singapore??
Peter Brady was by far the ugliest Brady kid on the "Brady Bunch". I mean, they were all pretty ugly, and the fact that the Brady dad wanted to always take the boys out on overnight camping trips just a tad bit too often, gave me the creeps.

So, with the advent of Pirates of the Carribean 3-At Worlds End, does this mark the first time ever that a Disney film has recieved a PG-13 rating?

It was but, about 20 years ago or longer that should any Disney movie recieve any rating other than a G-rating, it would be taboo.

Disney has let go of its standards of family oriented values, in favor of cold hard cash.

An R-rated Disney movie is right around the corner, and once that happens Im sure Disney will go the distance and make an X-rated flick.

I can see some films already.

"Jack Swallow-The Bed Pirate, in RedHeads Chest"

"Dumbo has a Jumbo"

"Thumper Humper"

"Lady and the Pimp"

"Peter Panic"

"Penis-occhio"

"Mary Popped-in"

"Sex Toy Story"

"Robin Wood"

"Blow White and the seven hunks"

"Sucking Beauty"

All three Pirates movies have been PG-13, and I'm glad. If they tooke the usual overly family-friendly approach, the movies would have seriously sucked. Hell, I don't think Captain Jack could even exist in anything lower than PG-13. And there's not going to be an R-rated Disney movie anytime soon, that's what those other film companies they bought are for.

Dude...it's DISNEY. Look at how much of the media they own. It's always been about cold hard cash.

I believe Disney changed its approach to family entertainment with THE BLACK HOLE, which has a robot say "shit" and which did not earn a G rating. Later it released THE WATCHER IN THE WOODS, a suspense/fantasy (nothing special) which got a PG I think.

In order to be more competitive in a changing marketplace, Disney created Touchstone Pictures and began releasing adult fare. Its first R-rated film was RUTHLESS PEOPLE.

I haven't checked any of these facts; I am going off the top of my head; I could be wrong.

I did a bit of research on this, and also found out that Disney owns Hollywood Pictures as well.

Id like to see a complete list of everything owned by Disney

Off the top of my head I know they own:

ABC, Buena Vista, ESPN, Hollywood Pictures, Touchstone Pictures.

okay..i did a bit of research and found out companies owned by Disney:

Sony's list is also impressive:

I just saw it.

Yes.

YES.

OH GOD, YES.

...So good...so very, very good...

An intelligent review or discussion will have to wait as I have been so blown away by the sheer awesomeness of this my skull is throbbing in agony.

...Of course, that could also have something to do with the theater's sound system being twice as loud as was really necessary. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go hunt down a copy of that soundtrack. RIGHT NOW.

Also: I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO! laugh.gif

The scene is missing from what I downloaded for a more...critical viewing (pffft)...but I think I remember it accurately enough.

Highlight for text:

They cut to a scene ten years later. The sun is setting and we see Elizabeth and her young son (William Turner III, I assume he would be named) make their way to the end of a cliff overlooking the sea, as the boy sings, "A Pirate's Life for Me". They wait, and when the sun sets there's a flash of green light, and the Dutchman appears with Captain Will Turner at her helm. Back on the cliff, Elizabeth smiles, and the boy's face lights up at sight of his father's ship approaching.

Honestly, I think that scene is what sold the ending of their part of the story for me.

I saw it yesterday. I still am mad that you can't view just the second or just the third movie by themselves like you can the first; you have to watch them both for them to make any sense. And if I were to get critical I could come up with some criticisms, about some stuff being just a bit too hokey or just them going a bit overboard, but I'm trying not to pick it apart because I want it to be fun. However, I must say that I found all the references to Jack's "boat" to be in poor taste, as they had no purpose and just were a bit much.
So overall, I turned off my fault-finder as best as I could and I had a really enjoyable experience with the movie. smile.gif
I am writing about Jm in my signature because apparently it's an effective method of ignoring him.

...Ok, maybe one penis joke too many (the one about his ship was a bit of a groaner), but I laughed at the spyglasses.

And in that vein: Ahaha - one of the pirate lords is a eunuch! Penis jokes, meh, but long live the eunuch joke! laugh.gif

I think this film will get 100 percent good reviews here regardless just because no one dares oppose Jane, or, as she's known in other circles, All Powerful Jane:
