Actually, I regard all Trilbies as if they shared the same consciousness (it is evident from the recollection of the last clone that got trapped in Chzo). So I could not be so cold-blooded about getting them killed all the time.

I know what you mean. It was as if the Trilbies each held onto a puzzle piece of the original Trilby's consciousness, and for them to piece together all save one had to die.

I think that its already been said, but even when I replay TN i don't quite know whats going to happen, due to the visions etc.

But 6DAS, once played trough once, has nothing left, and it think if old Y is listening to this thread, he's probably learned the lesson of dying in games.

I certainly hope he didn't.
It may be boring not to die at all in a game, but if we "whine and bitch" about it, Yahtzee WILL see this and we will die frustatingly often in the next game. And then it's "You only got what you wanted." all over the place again ^^

There's 2 solutions for that: Make non-linear games to increase replayability.

Or you prepare 30 scary events, and, at the begining of the game, 10 to 15 events are randomly selected and will happen during the current game, this way you get a different experience every time you play. Kinda like the hallucinations in TN, but with more variety. Like puzzles that are present or not to make the player says "Hey! It wasn't like that last time!". Baddies sightings, lethal or not, to remind the player that danger is always present or absence of baddies when they are expected, to make the player more nervous. It might be hard to implement, or affect the storyline a bit, but to be scary an horror game must surprise the player when the player's guard is down, and is there any better moment than when the player replay the game a second time and expect the same?

The moment that scared me the most in an horror game happened while I was replaying Enclosure for the second time, with my guard down. It wasn't a random event, it was simply easy to miss if you are not careful and I simply did not notice until it caught me off guard the second time I played it.

I certainly hope it comes true, I have fond memories of sending these 248 redshirts to their doom in GFW. cool.gif

You're talking about Clock Tower here. First playthrough, I click on this chest, scary, tense music starts playing, it opens, a black cat jumps out and scurries away. Second playthrough, the little boy with the huge pair of scissors jumps out and starts chasing me down the manor. Almost gave me a frigging heart attack.

Somebody should make a game based on Dante's Divine Comedy. Venture through hell's pits and try to stay alive in each level as long as you can, for the game will only get harder when you reach bottom after ten seconds.

Ah, I really shoulda lay off the booze. wacko.gif

The guy making 'Les Miserables - The Game' is making a Dante...err...Level. Perhaps expansion?

This guy has a strange setup.
"I've come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubble gum."
-John Carpenter's They Live

"God help us...in the future."
-Plan 9 from Outer Space

heh.. where to start..

5DAS, long time no played that, i remember i heard about this from a www.megagames.com article, showing trilby in the dungeon where jhon defoe is at, i was like "omg, this is gonna be pretty intense o_o" , then the game started, Nice intro vid, heh, i even got to check a house for burglary!, i was like "is this the game that was featured on the page?", then i was like "mm.. maybe the horror part is some sort of.. Books that fall and stuff like that" , so wrong i was.. The first nightmare kinda got me.. i was like what the hell?.. then, AJ lyng dead, that surely caught me off guard.. i was like "it was one of them.. poor AJ didn't stood a chance, no undercover CIA agent knows how to swim!", wrong i was though.. then days went by, one by one, getting killed, i was tryng to enjoy my mini games and puzzles, but all that murdering and mystery just wouldn't let me. then the game ended... and i was like "wow, that was intense, but whatever was in there is dead now, or at least is buried by tons of debris and won't bother me ever again"..

then i heard about 7 days a skeptic, but i didn't play it, because i foolishly thought "how could it be any scarier than 5DAS if it's oriented on space A:?", hah, foolish i was

then Trilby's Notes came.. i played it.

sure, this time my hero is on another histerically bizarre Adventure, hah, this time ima break into some appartment!.. WRONG, there's my dear reporter, dead, stabbed, lyng at the moonlight, while it took me like 30 minutes to figure out those freaking curtains where called Blinds (as you may have noticed, i ain't a native english speaker tongue.gif), then the hotel, yeh right, IMA THE UNDERCOVA TRILBY biggrin.gif!, and i even have a buddy on the field!, this has to be more of a mistery game rather than a horror game.. then.. the hotel staff?.. where the hell did the hotel staff go to?, bah, maybe yahtzee didn't made em around cuz they would be too much of an annoyance, rite.. (and they where annoying, but not in THAT dimention), then i go to speak with this girl (ima call her Girl, cuz her last name was way too hard to pronounce), yeh right, TELL ME ALL YOU KNOW!, IM A DETECTIVE!.. hah!, then BANG, what the hell!?, where did my reality go to?!, and i was like o_o, i think i even stared at my walls for a second, then all those horrible visions and flashbacks.. omg i was going mad, i think what horrified me the most, was the fact that the game was so.. involvent.. catching, dun know the english term for that, like, it kinda Ate me, i couldn't stop playng it until i finished it, and it made me feel.. endangered, and stuff like that, omg, the tall man, i firstly thought he was the ghosty back there on the mansion, but no, he was a whole other story, then all these Chzo Book pieces and all this story developing, what the hell is going on?!, Chzo?, DeFoe?, Magic Realm?!.. did i miss something by not playng 7DAS??!, all that.. paranoia kinda got me a tic, then finally, game over, no more horrors..

of course.. until i thought "what the hell, ima play 7DAS, how scary could it be?"

crap, it was scary!

okie, it started kinda nicely, a space ship, maybe ima have to blast some DeFoe ships or something like that biggrin.gif!, who knows, maybe it's going to be a nice adventure game.. NO, captain's missing

what the hell?!, where's my black captain?! (no offence), then, aite, i have to go check this lil antenae thingie, 24th century, and we still have to move the antenae to get decent reception.
"oh!, i found the problem, it's our captain stuck in the antenae", right, it sounds pretty funny when you read it off a post somebody made, but hell it ain't that funny when you are standing outside of a ship, next to a dead guy and not knowing if you just made a mistake and somebody is going to cut you in half when you turn around..

thanks to god i didn't got cutted in half.

then, all those misteryes and "where the hell is the crew?!", then selena.. omg, ima never forget the impresion of Selena just.. standing there, after hearing "i saw the captain moving!, i swear it!".. omg, i halmost crapped my pants, i remember i was afraid of opening doors for like 2 weeks because of that

then, this girl, that girl that was like Badass and get's you in jail.. yeah, i thought she was going to make it trough the game.. but i forgot this was a Yahtzee game, No mercy on secondary characters.

then there i was, getting chased by a big black guy, And a even bigger black wielder, my god i almost got a heart atack (Yahtzee must get sued very fluently because of his games heh, everybody around this post almost had a heart atack). the torso in the vent, the wielder, omg, even that mechanic getting jetissoned to space!!.. MY GOD WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS GAME!!!.. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!..

i even remember back when i hitted my dear captain and sent him straight to the generator
"It's not racist behaviur, it's not you!, it's me!"

then , i go into the doctors room , at least i can talk to somebody before he get's killed and i have to do something to end with this weilder..

i go in a room filled with corpses and severed parts..

"uhm.. i just hope this is a normal 24th century behaviur.."

it was not, (i guess) then i walk around this wicked space ship, and what the hell?!, now i get chased by the wielder!!.. ahh, i runned around this ship for like half an hour, then my ammo went off, i was like ";__;, fuck", then this got me!, the antenae!, if it can kill a ship captain, then it can surely kill a badass weilder.

hah!, it did, DIE WEILDER DIE!!

then i forgot to get rid of the idol, wen't to change clothes and i was there, dressed like the wielder O__O, AHH, i halmost fainted.. but thanks god i didn't forgot to save in all that celebration and "wehee!, take that you bitch!, you can't against me, and my big ass antenae!"

well, that was pretty much my bad experiences with Yahtzee's games..

6Days was.. well.. let me catch my breath a lil.. heh

Wait a minute... So If you don't get rid of the idol, you turn into the Welder? I never really thought about trying that... Has anyone else, and does that really happen, and you just plain lose the game?
