Here's to 6DAS getting awards - that would be each of his Chzo Mythos getting awards, right?

Quite frankly, that is rather unlikely. For one, after 7 years of waiting, AGDI's Quest For Glory 2 VGA remake will finally be released this year (it is currently in alpha phase) and not only the original QFG2 was a great game already, but the AGDI remakes are giants and usually won a lot of awards in the past. And even if the quality of the AGS games reached an unprecedent level of quality during the last 2 years compared to the first years, I still suspect QFG2VGA will sweep a lot of awards this time.

And for two, games released earlier in the year seems to receive less awards than those released later in the year simply because the game are less fresh in people's memory. Add to this the mixed reaction 6DAS received. 6DAS might be nominated for best music, and possibly best story, but winning the awards will be another story.

Nevertheless, I do expect it to win at least one award. I would be surprised if it didn't.

I agree with Blueskirt insofar as I don't think it will be a sweep like last year.

Which one, for example?

Most awkward sex scene in an AGS Game.

Silliest Combination for a safe in an AGS Game.

Tallest Man in an AGS Game.

Most debated ending sequence in an AGS Game.

Most misanthropic Author of an AGS Game.

Best title Screen in an AGS Game.

Most miraculous survival in an AGS Game.

Most new forum sign-ups for an AGS Game.

(As critical as I sounded just there, I loved that game.)

Well, I do think m0ds will at least get nominated for his music, this time.

But it's hard to say which award he'll likely win, especially since there are 10 more months for releases before things can get nominated. If the awards were held tomorrow, 6DAS would sweep them. But there's plenty of time for more games to come out...

I think he has a good chance at Best Story, as well as Best NPC for either the Tall Man (if he can win twice) or Redrobey McSomerset. Dacabe will most likely get nominated for best character but I don't think he'll get it.

Also, background art is a possibility if no really pretty games come out. If QFG2VGA makes it this year, sorry Yahtzee.

I'd think that 6DaS would do well on the "use of sound" front.

C'mon, how long has it been now? Like, 5 years?

Unless if they fall on some really tough to eliminate bugs, or unless if a big accident happen to AGDI or the project itself, it seems rather unlikely to me that it will stay in Alpha/Beta for more than 10 months.

Alpha/Beta-testing process? huh.gif They've gotten that far? That's cool, I stopped monitoring their progress about 2-3 years ago.

Yup. The project was put on hold during the last year so they could finalize Al Emmo, but now that Al Emmo is released, they restarted to work on QFG2. It's in alpha testing since last november or december. I guess the beta version is looming.

Blueskirt -- how would you like to be my hired goon? Every time someone asks me a question like that, you can jump in and answer them so I won't have to! I'll pay you 62 cents a day. biggrin.gif

Many thanks!

P.S. -- I was just kidding about the 62 cents.

That's what they said about Duke Nukem Forever smile.gif
Seriously, though, that's definitely possible, as is Apprentice III and Ben Jordan 6 - all from people who've won best game before. I predict everyone duking it out for months before somebody we've never heard of beating everyone in an upset. Then again, it would be cool to say 'Trilby trifecta'. Okay, no it wouldn't.

I dunno, 1213 (at least the end of it) was released in January. And TN in July. Hard to say.
Signatures are overrated.

Yeah, you're probably right. Maybe I just said that because when it was time to vote, I remembered every games, except for Chicken Vs Road and Spooks which were released very early in the year. I do remember they were great enough to end up in my folder of games to keep forever, but I don't remember anything else. Maybe I just have a short memory.

But giving a quick look at the last 2 years of AGS awards, there is visibly more award winner in the second half of the years than the first one.
