I'm not a very big fan of star wars, I've only seen 3 of the films, but the first thing I thought when I started playing the Wii... Star Wars. The controller was built for lightsabers. I haven't heard of any announced game, but LucasArts would be out of their minds not to release it.

The Wii-controller was not built for lightsabers.
What my friends from the virtual augmentation project at uni built, now that one's for lightsabers. Featuring force-feedback and integrated sound. The Wii can never keep up with that feeling. I never would have imagined that chopping arms off could be so much fun before I tested it.

Pop quiz, hotshot. Garry Kasparov is coming to kill you, and the only way to change his mind is for you to beat him at chess. What do you do, what do you do?

Allright, there's an "arcade only" game of the SW: OT and on the arcade consol is one joystick with a trigger and maybe 2 buttons. The graphics now are outdated because it was running off of the original Dreamcast processor, (I believe), but the control with just the joystick was really good. The game alowed flight and lightsaber combat. I played this game only a few times, 1) expensive as Hell! 2) Hard as nails to play! but the control was solid, once you had it down, you knew it. I think this game still sits at a local theater owned by Disney.
The game is more impressive to watch the demo of the game showing Vader ignite his saber and fight Luke and that's when you see that you only have the joystick to use to guide your swings. And the whole fight is in first-person view.
They could put this on the Wii. As long as they put time and attention into details and let fans of SW test it out first. If they rush it out for a home system, it will be crap. But if the designers are patient and hardworking, this game will be worth buying a Wii for.

Star Wars Trilogy Arcade, what a great game! Too bad it was never multiplayer...
PS: It was Sega Model 3 hardware, not Naomi (dreamcast arcade).

The Star Wars arcade was an interesting game. My favorite part was, interestingly enough, fighting Boba Fett and not Darth Vader. I think I did finish the game at one time, but that was a long time ago and I don't remember it... except for the silly part when you're attacking the Core of Death Star 2. Those people had an entire squadron just hiding there to ambush you!
