Oh yeah, I'm also playing a completely awesome game titled Moonbase Commander. It's sort of a blend of the turn based combat of Worms and the base-building of an RTS. It takes skill, but it's fiarly easy to pick up. I highly, highly reccommend it to everyone here.

If you need any more convincing, here's a quick little review that basically sums up my feelings about MBC: http://www.gamerevol...e_commander.htm

Not nearly as overrated as Halo 2.

Actually, I think that you may be right there, but it'd still be a case of nostalgia for the origional.

How can you have nostalgia for a game made in 2002?

I also disagree that Half-Life 2 is that overrated. The only game that really blew me away recently was POP: Sands of Time, and that was last year. Shadow of the Colossus was kickass, but didn't quite make it to the OMFG rating.

My girlfriend and I have been playing Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2 over the Internet of late. wub.gif And I've been itching to come up with my own game, too.

Games that have blown me away recently? I guess VtM:B and, if we go back far enough, the first KotOR.
Picked up a game called Spellforce: The Order of Dawn for $30 the other day. It's quite good so far.

I made an attempt at original Deus Ex and I conclude I am crap at FP games. They killed me about five minutes into the game.

I can't wait for Oblivion, thought, it definitely is out here on 24th March.

I'm playing through the arcade mode* of every Tekken game made for home consoles in order. It's like watching all the Star Wars movies, only not even vaguely like that.

*Except Tekken Five, I'm plaing the story mode there.

I've got Morrowind lying around here... but I just can't get into it, even though I try... I think I'll skip it and wait for Oblivion. I really do need a good game to relax for a change, scanning through all these RFCs one nightshift after another is starting to make my brains bleed. sad.gif

Sounds like my experience of teh game. I hear that if you get somebody to walk you through the first few levels, it becomes brilliant, but that takes effort to arrange.

I just bought Black. It's pretty cool. The graphics are incredible for Xbox. My only complaint is that the levels are long, and there are very few checkpoints, so if you die, you have to replay a lot of the level.

And, as usual, in parts of the game where stealth would be useful, your 'allies' are about as useful as having airhorns strapped to your shoes.

The first levels of Deus Ex weren't that hard at all, except for the bit with the gaurd dogs and the rooftops. You've just got to be quick and quiet, and take shots at the NSF when they aren't looking. Make sure you aim for the head.

Currently playing Halo multiplayer again, and I'm probably going to be playing BF2 some more, just as soon as I can get it working again *grumble grumble*
