Just because it was dumb to vote for Bush doesn't mean it was more intelligent to vote for the other party...

I should start voting Marijuana Reform Party at local elections out of spite for the system...

I try to just say that humanity is dumb, but I have more evidence of specifically Americans being saps.

Yep, 51% of American voters are bigots.

Well good, just wanted to make sure we were on the same page on knowing the majority of Americans do support him:)

51% is a lame majority though.

51% is a lame majority though.

51% is likely to be the win for all future presidents. Both candidates campaign so close to the middle that there is hardly a difference between them. And for all this nonsense about Gay Marriage being a hot issue, even the Dems were going to try to deny it was a Federal issue and punt it to the State legislatures.

It wasn't a hot issue. The Republicans made it one to distract people from the real issues. Like that Medicare "reform."

Hmmm. A little bit of an apology to my American friends on this forum. I've just read my previous post and it appears that I have left off the last paragraph. My post should have concluded with:

The reality is, I find it very difficult to believe that a majority of your population holds these views and that is why I find myself questioning the need for secrecy in the polling system. For the most part the Americans I have encountered are pretty cool (and that's not just in this forum, my work has me liaising quite often with American colleagues) and clued in on what is happening in their country.

I hope that clarifies my position somewhat. I don't believe that the majority of Americans are unintelligent and ill-informed. It's actually quite the contrary.

I don't believe that the majority of Americans are bigots, only the majority that vote. Many Americans are so disheartened by the reality of Yank politics that they don't see the point of voting. The fact is that Bush's approval rating is now below 40% although if he were to run again today it would not be surprising if he were to win again. Hmmmmm

QUOTE
You can bash capatalism all you want but in the end of the day, every communist regime has had a failling economy. Why? Simple. It takes away any incentive to work and any incentive for innovation.

Whereas in capitalist society the incentives are fear of starvation and the illusion that riches can somehow be attained.

QUOTE
So eitherway, a decrease in it, is still better than nothing. Also, key to note is that America's unemployement despite having supposidly a large povery line, is still at around 5-6% most of time whereas Socialist Europe has virtually 10%+ unemployement across the board.

You have to consider conditions and not just numbers. The unemployed in Europe probably live better than many of those who are employed in America.

QUOTE
And despite all of Cuba's doctors, there healthcare system still sucks,

What are you basing this off of?

QUOTE
there country still sucks

Wow, good point. I could counter with a snappy come back like "No, you suck, ass-fag!" but this isn't the seventh grade.

QUOTE
there economy is in shambles, and nobody wants to live there, including your ass.

Your generalizations are fantastimazing, but you're wrong. The economy is in shambles due to US aggression. Criticizing Cuba for having a poor economy is like criticizing a woman about how her clothes are messed up after she's been raped. As for noone wanting to live there, I'm sure you have polls and research to back it up and are not just making an ignorant assertion. Speaking of ignorant assertions:

"Noone wants to live in the US because Americans often seek political asylum in Canada"

And where I want to live dosn't have any implications on the debate at all except as a completely irrational argument. You may as well tell all the democrats in Kentucky to move to a blue state if they love the democratic party so much.

QUOTE
Now obviously its because of sanctions, but its also cause that system is inherintly shitty

Oh come on. They lose the cold war and now their system is inherintly [sic] shitty? Hey, the state I live in fought on the losing side of the civil war, so I guess they're inherently shitty too. I'd better move to Cuba, post haste.

As for your nonsense about how most of the US voters are insane, I'd say that's completely possible. After all, the more ignorant a person is the more likely they are to be given to anger, and the more likely they are to act on it, IE vote for someone to kill the fags/muslims/commies/blacks/whoever's bothering us. I really could care less how much of the US population has watched enough Fox Five News at Ten to believe that the war against Iraq is a glorious crucade. I'm not one of them, and just because your kind have the numbers at the moment, it dosn't make you right in the least. To the fifty one percent of American voters who endorsed racism and genocide, I'd just like to quote Anti-Flag when I say:

Stick your fucking flag up your ass, motherfuckers.

Cubans do get free healthcare, even prisoners. Cuba has one of the lowest HIV rates of any country in the world, and they also have a lower infant mortality rate than many part s of the US. Thus why I'm puzzled as to what makes their healthcare "suck"

Alright, how the HELL did this thread get on this long?

Edit: Realised that it now seems to be

1) Are americans bigots?

2) How much, if at all, does Cuba suck?

Frankly, to the second I have to say that it really sucks because it's hot there and it isn't Ancient Egypt. There, my argument is unstoppable.

You're right, unless one prefers ancient Greece or enjoy a tropical climate.
